Tantamount Geometry
Tanglefoot framesets all feature Tantamount Geometry. Across the size range of any given model, all of the head tube and seat tube angles are the same. Bike sizes that share tire sizes (i.e. two bikes that differ in frame size but both have 700c wheels) all feature the same bottom bracket height. We don’t cheat on geometry. Tantamount Geometry is our commitment to keeping handling consistent across all of the bike sizes. Not only are our bikes the only ones on the market that account for the popularity of zero offset seatposts, but we’re also the only folks on the block that feature the same seat tube and head tube angles on all sizes of a given frame. Most companies use wildly different geometries across size runs. Usually the smaller bikes get the short end of the stick, not because small people need different seat- and headtube angles but because folks mistakenly think short chainstays and big wheels are more important than good bike fit. Next time you are looking at a geometry chart, compare the 3 biggest sizes on the chart to the smallest. I bet you’ll find some interesting discrepancies. The magic of Tanglefoot’s designs is that they don’t need to cheat on angles, so everyone, regardless of height, is riding a bike with consistently good fit characteristics and handling.
